About the President
STEVE MORGAN,

Maximum Athletic performance: The Difference is in the approach.

Map sports specific training centers implement scientifically based programs for speed and overall sports performance. We combine various strength and conditioning philosophies focused on acceleration, agility, eye/hand/body coordination, and nutritional counseling to provide a safe, well balanced training program. Map maintains an excellent athlete-to-trainer ratio, providing each individual with the personalized attention necessary to achieve his or her goals. Our comprehensive approach enables you to gain and learn to maintain a competitive edge in your chosen sport.

Sport Cord Technology-

Another element of the Map system is the use of sport cords. Sport cord training provides power in sport specific muscle groups. Tensioned cords are strategically positioned on the athlete, who proceeds through the motions of his or her specific sport and position. This type of training safely loads specific muscle groups associated with running, skating, throwing, shooting, kicking, hitting, and catching.

Pliometrics-

Plio’s are explosive movements designed to improve multi-directional quickness, agility, power, and vertical jump while maintaining the proper center of gravity. You will be coached through a progressive series of drills, ultimately increasing your muscle quickness and efficiency. Steven A. Morgan, sport specific strength and conditioning coach is known by athletes simply as the “Guru” and “plio-man” is the creator of the program. Mr. Morgan has been practicing pliometrics since 1990, during this time Steve has worked to make pliometric training safe and efficient for young athletes as well as delivering a significant competitive edge. Steve has been a Big Ten strength and conditioning coach at Michigan State University, NBA strength consultant, philadelphia 76ers. Steve, has also studied, coached, trained and lectured trainers and coaches in Russia, South Korea, China, Sweden, Japan, Iceland and many other countries. The system is intense and unique in the way it is designed and will deliver unprecedented results for any athlete at any level.

Vertimax-

As our trainers assess your movements and the demands of your activities the vertimax allows the athlete and trainer to see biomechanical imperfections.Improvements in running, throwing, skating or jumping with the Map vertimax system are guaranteed! Institutions all over the country have implemented the vertimax into their strength and conditioning program in order to improve the overall performance of their athletes. The athletes in this program are pre-tested and post tested at the end of the 4-6 week program and the results will be discussed with athlete and/or parents/coaches.

Strength training/ Olympic lifting-

A safe, overall body strengthening program is developed for each athlete based upon initial testing, goals, level of current conditioning, endurance and biomechanical characteristics. Strength training involves the use of weight lifting equipment and one’s own bodyweight to improve your power base. Adherence to strict safety guidelines outlined in position statements provided by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, American pediatric Society, and American College of Sports Medicine ensures quality training and programming.
